Mega Man vs Ultraman (Capcom vs Tsuburaya)

 


Ultraman, Tsuburaya and Tokusatsu's poster boy hero 

And Mega Man, the blue bomber from Capcom 

Two heroes who have defended Earth for a long time period, and who with their titles have proved themselves to be more than just mere men.

But who would win in a fight at their peak? Will Rock defeat the alien from the Land of Light? Or will Ultraman deal with another enemy of the week?


We're about to find out!


Background

Ultraman 


Here comes our hero, Ultraman!

An alien from the distant M78 Nebula, 3 million light years away from Earth, Ultraman was going to put the space monster Bemular back into the Monster Graveyard, until the vile beast escaped and the hero had to chase him into Earth, where he accidentally crashed with the spaceship of Shin Hayata, a member of the SSSP

Out of remorse, Ultraman merged with the dying man and revived him, fusing with him and Hayata became his host. Now as two together, they both defended Earth against multiple monsters and invaders, until Ultraman was easily defeated by Zetton, his strongest foe. Thankfully he was helped by Zoffy into his own homeworld, and although his original adventures were over, his job as a hero was not and he still protected the universe 

Mega Man



Duh duh duh duhhhh, du du du duuuu duh duh du 

Dr. Light, alongside his fellow partner, Dr. Wily, were two best friends, and together with each other they created robots. Unlike the average robots, they were intelligent and were useful for multiple tasks. The first of which was Proto Man, but he rebelled against his creator and ran away.

Following that, Light then decided to create two robot siblings, named Rock and Roll.

However, Wily's jealously of his partner took hold of him, as he corrupted Light's other robots and started a plan to conquer the world. Wanting to stop Wily, Rock purposely wanted himself modified in order to stop his malicious plans and save the world. Thus, Light modified him and Mega Man was born, the hero we all know and love.

Experience

Ultraman

Ultraman is pretty skilled. As someone who is over 20000 years old, he has adapted himself to fighting numerable monsters and aliens, incluiding ones such as Ultraman Belial in physical combat even if he was overpowered later on. He can also fight against an entire army of monsters and defeat them simultaneously.

Mega Man


After being modified for use in combat, Rock became an absolute power beast. He has defeated multiple robot masters and other enemies similar. Some these include Quint, an alternative timeline version of him who has all of his skills; Knight Man, A robot which was capable of defeating thousands of skilled robots in duel and also has defeated Flash Man and can tell where he is after his time stop ended perfectly, caughting him mid-act.

Powers

Ultraman 


Being an Ultra Warrior from the Land of Light, Ultraman has a ton of abilities 

Superhuman Power 
Ultraman is very stronk, being capable of easily lifting and ragdolling kaijus bigger than him.

Telekinesis


Ultraman can use telekinesis to deal with his foes, being capable of easily lifting them mid-air 

Teleportation 
Ultraman can teleport to another location. However, it is stated that this costs himself alot of energy 

Ultraman is also capable of powered flight. He can also use it to travel interstellar distances very quickly.

Water Manipulation 


Ultraman can also use water spray, such as when he used it to kill Jamila and stop fire. However, it's not very useful in direct combat.

Paralysis

Ultraman has abilities which can paralyze his foes and can also use his telekinesis to help him too. Other methods include energy manipulation such as his rings, however, these can be broken by a stronger foe.

Energy Attacks
Ultraman's main method of finishing his foes are through his energy attacks. These include the Spacium Beam, an attack which is described to be over 500000 degrees celsius, which is far hotter than the Sun! Other attacks include the Ultra Slash, a cutter which can cut through kaiju, Ultra Attack Beam and more, some of which (like the Ultra Attack Beam) are said to be many times stronger than the Spacium Beam.

Martial Arts

As a warrior, Ultraman is also physically skilled, and can pull off very acrobatic moves and fast kickes and punches to deal with his enemies. He can also easily strangle them with his legs.

Sealing 

Alongside his brothers, Ultraman was capable of sealing Yapool in the ocean. However, it caused him to be uncapable of transforming into his Ultra form and stayed as Shin Hayata for over 26 years.

Power Nullification 

Ultraman can nullify abilities. By shooting beams from his eyes, he can not only nullify energy barriers but can also negate the invisibility of beings, making them visible. He can also undo abilities such as sealing as seen in the Mebius movie.

Forcefield

Pretty self-explanatory. Creates forcefields to defend himself from attacks. These forcefields can also deflect attacks

Writing Manifestation 
Via Ultra Sign, an ability which seems inmate to his species. Creates writings on the sky to warn his fellow Ultras.

Size Increase 

Ultras can freely manipulate their size. They can manipulate it to become the size of a giant, human or even microscopic.

Mega Man


Pellets 

Mega Man's method of attack of which he starts with. He can shoot multiple of these energy bullets, and can also charge his Mega Buster to fire even stronger ones, such as with the Double Mega Buster 

Power Mimicry 
Mega Man's most iconic ability. He can freely copy the abilities of the enemies he defeated and masterfully use their abilities 

Fusion and Summoning
Rock can freely summon and use his buddies Rush and Beat. Beat can be used to attack enemies, create forcefields, save Mega Man from a pit and be used as a jet. Rush can transform himself into vehicles such as a submarine, jet, roil and can also fuse with Mega Man as an armor for him which makes him far stronger.

Fire Attacks

Rock with his abilities can use elemental abilities such as fire attacks, which can be used as attacks and even as weapons. Some these can reach up to 12,000 degrees celsius.

Petrification 

Rock can use abilities such as Concrete Shot. This attack can petrify enemies and turn them into stone. This ability is so strong than it can even petrify black holes

Black Holes

Rock can use black holes which can distort gravity and suck enemies in. These black holes are clearly real ones as they suck everything in sight, are directly referred to as ones and also distort gravity around them.

Space and Time Manipulation 

Rock has not only black holes, but abilities to manipulate time and space itself. Abilities like Time Stopper are pretty blatant by the name, as it allows Rock to stop the flow of time for a few seconds. Other abilities such as Centaur Flash are more impressive however, as it not only stops time but It is explained that this ability warps space through sheer power and can also send foes into a dimensional hole to trap them in.

Ice Manipulation 


Mega Man also has ice abilities in his arsenal, allowing him to freeze these enemies. These ice attacks are not only capable of freezing enemies unnafected by space, but also can freeze at Absolute Zero. 

Paralysis 

Shadow Blade aside from being a cutting ability, is also stated to completely break the mechanical functions of a robot. Abilities such as Spark Shot also creates a massive light which stops enemies 

Illusions 

With Copy Vision, Rock can summon a hologram of him. This clone is so real that it causes enemies Z even bosses, to attack the clone instead of Rock himself. The clone can also attack and defeat enemies 

Magnetism

Rock can use Magnet Missile, which can magnetically attract itself to foes and scrap them, and with Junk Shield he summons all metal around him to act as a forcefield for him. This magnetism is strong enough to process scrap metal

Plant Manipulation

Rock can use plant elemental abilities such as Leaf Shield to defend himself and shoot these leaves at enemies. Others also have the same function 

Power Increase 

In Super Adventure Rockman, there's this guy called Ra Thor. He is unique because he was able to completely overpower Rock and no-sell his attacks, and was stated to be 3x times stronger than Hard Man, who previously fought with Rock. However, after he got back up Rock immediately defeated him in a single fight, showing he can grow stronger by 3x times in a single battle. Rock can also amplify his Strength and absorb the energy of others to make him massively stronger.

Regeneration Negation 

Rock can perma kill Yellow Devil with his attacks, who can regenerate after being split into pieces. He can also permanently destroy Sheep Man who can come back after transforming into a gas state 

Electricity Manipulation 

Abilities such as Thunder Beam allow Rock to create electrical attacks which goes over a great distance. 

Weather Manipulation 

Rock can also freely manipulate the weather itself, being capable of creating thunder clouds and even massive acid rains which shoot acid which melt those around it 

Tanks 


Mega Man can also freely use tanks to help him. These items are mostly for healing his health bar, but can also be used to recharge his weapons or turn all enemies on screen into lives.

-Can fly from Earth to the Land of Light, which is 3 million light years away from Earth

Mega Man


-Can tank and escape from the gravity of a black hole 

-Survives ice colder than Absolute Zero and fire hotter than the Sun

Zetton

Yeah, the monster who infamously destroyed Ultraman in their first encounter. Despite that moment, nowadays Ultras like Ultraman can freely fight and defeat Zetton 



Ultraman Jack


Jack and Ultraman at the time of Return of Ultraman were considered equals. This could be the same for nowadays 


-Jack has fought Bemstar multiple times throughout the series. Bemstar was born out of a supernova

-Jack flew to the Cancer Constellation in about 9 seconds (434 million times FTL)

U-killersaurus 


Ultraman alongside his brothers can tank hits and slice his tentacles when he is on his Neo form 

-U-Killersaurus Neo was able to tank Zoffy's M87 Beam at 10% of it's full power. The M87 Beam at full power is said to be stronger than Father of Ultra's beam. Which leads into the next

Father of Ultra

During Showa Era, Father of Ultra was second only to Ultraman King. Nobody scaled to him. Nowadays, Ultras such as the Ultra Brothers and Belial are comparable to him 


Mebius


It's no secret Mebius is comparable to his brothers. Ultraman and Mebius together fought against Mefilas who was comparable to both and fought together against Belial's army 

-Mebius was capable of flying to the Land of Light in some seconds (2 trillion times FTL)

Belial


Ultraman nowadays scales to Belial's full power, as Base Zero and Taiga were able to match with Imit-Belial, who is considered as strong as the real Belial. The Ultra Brothers such as Mebius are comparable to Zero 


-Belial was capable of surviving the detonation of a bomb which was going to destroy the entire space-time continuum (Universe level+)

Mega Man

Duo

In Mega Man 8, Duo appears and fights Mega Man. Despite what Death Battle said in Sigma vs Ultron, Duo scaling is absolutely valid, as Robot Masters can fight with and take hits from Duo without him holding back and Rock can defeat and take hits from Wily Machine no. 8, whose attack overpowered Duo's energy



Ra Thor


As previously mentioned in the blog, Rock fought and defeated Ra Thor in a single fight after he was brutally overpowered by him.

-Ra Thor is said to be 2x times faster than Quick Man. Quick Man scales to Duo (266 X 3 = 533 quadrillion times FTL)

-Ra Thor is said to be 3x times stronger than Hard Man and Wood Man, who previously fought against Rock in the same game (3x times stronger than before)

Wily Star


The Wily Star is a massive fortress used by Wily in Mega Man V, it also has some noteworthy things 


-The Wily Star itself can physically attack Rock with it's mechanical fists, which once destroyed causes the thing to be futher harmed (5.9 KiloFOE)

Astro Man


Yeaahhh probably the most infamous of them all. Let's get this out of the way.


Weaknesses

Ultraman

Ultraman's major weakness is that he can't stay fighting for more than 3 minutes otherwise his Color Timer will start flashing and his energy will dry out. If the color timer reaches it's limit, Ultraman dies. Some of his abilities like his teleportation also have problems as it requires a lot of his energy to do so, decreasing his timer limit.

Mega Man



Mega Man's arsenal is not unlimited, and using them causes them to decrease until it's out of ammo. However, weapon tanks allow Mega Man to fully recover his ammo. Also he dies to spikes

Before the Verdict

Ultras resisting Absolute Zero?


In Ultraman Ace episode 13, Yapool used a freezing gas to weaken the Ultras. This gas was said to be -273 degrees celsius. Seems like absolute zero right?


This stated temperature is not -273.15, it's just -273, which is just a bit higher than Absolute Zero, making it not absolute zero. More however is that Ultras such as Ultraman Leo somehow get weakened by -200c, and Yapool directly states that cold is a weakness of the Ultras, and they were starting to get frozen by the gas. So no, this is not an Absolute Zero resistance.

Ultras flying to another universe?


In the same episode the Ultra Brothers flew to Golgotha, a planet which is located in Anti-Space, an universe opposite to ours. Seems like a good speed feat right?

Well, it's bunk.

What is ignored is that the image above is not Golgotha itself 

This is 

What is actually seen as this light is actually a portal to Golgotha, and in the next episode it is outright said that Golgotha is 60000 km away from Earth

Not only that, but this would be a massive outlier, as something like going to another universe without Dimensional Travel requires the entire population of the Land of Light to give an amp to an Ultra to travel between dimensions as seen in the Belial Galactic Empire movie.

Is Astro Man's feat fake?



Ultras being threatened by a Small Planet level attack?


In Ultraman Leo the Ultra Brothers were threatened by the Ultra Key, with the narrator saying that they were in danger. The Ultra Key is stated and shown to be capable of destroying a Smal Planet 

First of all, Attack Potency and Destructive Capacity aren't the same thing. Even if it was an anti feat these characters have consistent higher feats so we could ignore this as a plot induced stupidity 

Verdict 

And the winner is....*drum roll*







MEGA MAN!!

While both are comparable in strength with Ultraman being 4x times stronger into Uni+ (Scales to Z who is 4x times baseline), it doesn't matter much because the difference in strength isn't in the one shot territory, not to mention that Rock can grow multiple times stronger in the span of a fight, which may allow him to overpower Man. Rock's also immensly faster and his haxes will roll over Man such as his Absolute Zero, Time Stop, Paralysis, Transmutation and more. Rock's forcefields are also a problem given that they can deflect, absorb and redirect attacks back at the attacker, and we know how well Ultraman is against his own attacks being thrown at him. While Ultraman is more experienced, Rock can fight with beings more skilled than Ultraman such as the 3 million year old Ra Moon and defeat them. Things are even worse for Ultraman if Rock has the Double Gear System, which allows him to become massively stronger and faster than before to the point he sees everything else as slow motion. Ultraman's abilities such as paralysis would be useless as Rock resists such and telekinesis would be useless because Rock can easily brush it off thanks to his stronger lifting strength.
